The Gary Rice Educator of the Year Award

Mike Burch

From his birth in Niagara Falls, Ontario, to his college years at Redeemer University in Ancaster, Ontario, Mike Burch’s journey has been led by his passion for education and Christian ministry. Teaching wasn’t always the plan, but once he discovered his passion for it, he knew this was what he was meant to do!

Since joining CCS in 2011, Mike has poured his heart into his students, his colleagues, and the CCS family. His dedication, enthusiasm, and unwavering commitment to Christian education have left an incredible impact on our school community.

Reflecting on this award, Mike shared: “I am honored to accept an award named after a wonderful man and educator, Gary Rice. Gary was a mentor to me as a teacher, husband, father, and man. I am honored to be given an award named after him and to be considered by others to exhibit the same character that this wonderful man did during his time on Earth and here at CCS.”
